The Kenneth J. Bertholf Jr. Civil War History Education Program

Regular price $30.00

The Kenneth J. Bertholf Jr. Civil War History Education Program brings Military Images magazine to Civil War battlefields, museums, historic sites, and other institutions—free of charge. These annual subscriptions help staff and volunteers connect more deeply with the people, faces, and stories of the Civil War through original wartime portrait photography.

The program launched with 10 sites, including Gettysburg and Vicksburg, and now serves more than 50 locations across the U.S.—thanks to generous supporters like you.

Each $30 subscription counts! Choose as many subscriptions as you can—Your gift helps keep this educational resource in the hands of those on the front lines of public history.

The program honors Kenneth J. Bertholf Jr., a dedicated collector and passionate supporter of Civil War history. When Ken passed away in 2021, a copy of Military Images was placed in his casket—symbolizing his love for the magazine and the legacy he left behind.

By funding a subscription, you’re not only honoring Ken’s memory—you’re helping preserve and share Civil War history for generations to come.
